Was drving around town the other day taking in the sights and sounds.. Where at the ligths ahead of me.. this stoge in a VN SS Commodore thought he'd pick on this poor little Myers Manx...

Anyway.. to cut a long story short..as the lights went green.. the Manix steped out.. held it on a 30 degree angle to the left.. and proceded to wipe the smile quick smart of this commodore owners face as smoke was billowing all aorund his precious Super taxi.. . The manix was quick smart out of reach as the crumbledoor was still searching for second..

Trully was incredible...

Anyway.. caught up with the owner at a pety station down the road.. and he proceded to show me the 13B Turbo sitting behind / on the rear axel of his dam buggy..

With a shock and smile on my face he was gone before i could utter to words about his pride enjoy..

but anyway... How'd they drive as car.. preety similar to any dac dac ?? ..Kronic Overstear in dry.. and Kronic undstear in wet? lol

Rating on the fun scale however??.. ;D

GO THE MANIX

I haven't driven one, but the early road tests said that they were very light in the nose, as you would expect with the shortened wheelbase and minimalist fibreglass body.

The other problem is the ackerman geometry is not quite right for the road (again, due to the shortend wheelbase and stock VW steering geometry.)

Apart from this and the lack of crash protection, they're supposed to be great fun and unstoppable off road. They've always been a favourite car of mine. I can't help it.

All those TV shows with Manx's during my childhood in the 1970s really got to me. The most bizarre one was the "Wonder Bug" where the Manx was a kind of super hero. It was beat up and crappy green, but when you honked the horn or twisted the mirro or something it turned into the super hero called "Wonder Bug" which was an immaculate Manx with such super powers as the ability to fly. It was kind of like Herbie on acid.

Ok, I found some websites with pics.

Wonderbug's non-super hero alter ego was called "Schlepcar" amd is not really a proper Myer's Manx body:

And here's what he looks like after you toot his horn:

Find out more at:

This show was made by the same people who brought us such 1970s gems as "Land of the Lost" and "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters".

These cars (Manxs without the 'i') died out due to regulations preventing the shortening of the VW chassis.

Today I'm sure that engineers would be able to certify them and allow them to go on breeding.

If anyone wanted such a thing...

That's interesting. They breed do they?? This might explain quite a few plagues on the road. I've often wondered if SUVs and Hyundais breed...... Something strange happens to get so many of them in my way. Maybe they interbreed too? That might explain a few more strange things.

Who certifies the engineers? I won't go on...
